PAL:FebMarch - Death

Postby blackfly » Mon Feb 06, 2017 1:37 am

While the Catholics and Pagans are celbrating Lupercalia and Candlemass and Imbolc and all that shit about life and rebirth, we here at RandomPlatypus know that February is the shortest month, because its lifeforce has been leached out of it. And thus, we celebrate with an appropriate PAL theme:

Death

From Feb 1 to Mar 31, post up your interpretations of the theme here.

Grim reapers, Casualties, duel vignettes. Maybe combine it with your JanFeb PAL for freehand, and do some death's head / jolly roger designs on something?

Maybe you want to make an homage to Deth P Sun, Neil Gaiman and the Endless, Dave Mustaine, or Dr Dre?

Perhaps you want to get naughty and celebrate La petite mort, or celebrate tax season with life's two certainties. (looks at soldado... :dodgy: )

The list goes on and on.

Now get to work!

Good Ol' Deth and Taxxis has been painted for a while ready for salute, just need to finish the base off now but waiting to do the whole force at once.

not sure what else I have that would fit here, but I'll have a look around the pile.

I may have been inspired by all this pre-salute madness. We'll see if I can bring it home this time.

Some first tries at totally over grown mausoleums....

I was inspired by some of this awesomeness, though I understand there is a lot going on in the source images that isn't happening specifically in miniature... but I still find it a useful springboard:

That looks bloody ace BF, really like the use of proper reference, awesome :)

I do still intend to do this, I have a skellie standard bearer that will get done at some point!

FINALLY got the piece done I had intended for this! I'm still doing battle with my camera, but I feel like I'm making a little (MASSIVELY OVEREXPOSED) progress:
