PAL: January #1: Freehand!

Postby blackfly » Fri Dec 16, 2016 5:10 am

Its time to get things started, its time to light the lights . . .

And for January, the kick-off of the 2017 themed PALs, we have two categories for you to jump into. This is #1!

PAL-January #1: Freehand

Unit insignia, shields, banners, vehicle markings, tartan, stripes, checker boards, flags, fancy trim, tattoos, anything semiotic that you want to add to any miniature in any scale.

Deadline: Feb 28, 2017.

You have 2 months to tackle a freehand experiment that (hopefully) might already fit into your next project.

I don't have anything already in the queue that really fits this one . . . going to have to think on it.

Maybe hold off and plan some RP shield designs on the Salute dwarves.

I have a bust that I completely stalled on in the run up to Salute last year that I had grand plans for freehand on, or maybe this years Salute model, which I have just finished prep on. Hmmm...

I would say Abracadaver to the thread necromancy but Fonz beat me to it. :P

So in the post apoc cars group on Facebook it was decided to do a sort of themed challenge:

Sticking with the theme of the page, I thought I'ld make a retro inspired futuristic racer... drawing inspiration from things such as Death Race 2000, Carmageddon and the like.
If anyone wants to join me, feel free.... rules are simple, make a futuristic racer that would drop into a cheesy 70's or 80's B-movie and not look out of place.

Mine kinda fits freehand so here's The Purple Shocker! (Keeping the level of maturity roughly that of Carmageddon) :P
